    Part time Job

    International student can work: Upto 20 hours per week during their studies and 40 hours during their vacation.

    Full Time Job
    Canadian high commission encourages International students to earn work experience after their completion of Studies with no restrictions on the types of employment and no requirement for a job offer. Canada has a reputation of excellence in sectors such as telecommunications, transportation, engineering, microelectronics, hydroelectric power, biotechnology, food & beverage processing, geometrics, ocean & environmental industries, aerospace etc. The Work permit states that International students who have studies for 2 years are eligible for 3 years extension & students who have studies for 1 year are eligible for 1 year extension. Post attaining a work permit there are also possibilities of attaining a permanent residence in Canada.

    1. Can I work Part Time while studying?
    Yes, 20 hours per week when the course is in session and fulltime during vacations.

    2. Is there a Post study work option or possibility of applying for PR?
    If a student successfully completes their education they are entitled to a “Job search visa” in Canada for the period of a 1 year to 3 year depending on study duration. If you have the required skills and job you can even apply for Permanent residence.

    3. What are the general entry requirements for Universities?
    Undergraduate
    More than 80% in 12th standard for applying in Universities & more than 60% in 12th standard for applying in Colleges
    IELTS- 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in each module

    Masters
    More than 65% in Bachelors for applying in Universities & more than 60% in Bachelors for applying in Colleges
    GMAT scores ranging between- 500-650 with few Universities
    GRE scores ranging between- 280-310 with few Universities
    For masters students must have completed-16 years of Education (10+2+4)
    For full time MBA, full time work experience required between 2-4 years after Bachelors
    IELTS- 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each module

    4. When should I start the application process?
    It is advisable to start an application process minimum of 5-6 months in advance for Universities and 3-4 months in advance for Colleges.

    5. When do I need to pay my fees?
    You need to pay your fees after receiving of Unconditional Offer letter.

    6. What are the possibilities of getting a scholarship? How do I apply for them?

    7. What are the intakes in Canada?
    Main Intake is September however some Universities and colleges may offer January and May intakes as well.

    Eligibility for SPP VISA

    Age: Up to 20-30 Years.
    Process Time: 15 to 20 days for visa procedure
    Qualification: 12th or All Diploma Holders like – 10+3, 10+2+3 or All Bachelor's Degree or all Master's Degree (Academic 50% above or Second Class is the MUST)
    Work Experience: Maximum 5 years of experience are valid with genuine experience certificates
    IELTS Academic: Minimum overall 6.0 bands required (no band less than 5.5).1 year Graduate Diploma requires overall 6.5 Bands & for programs like Pharmacy, Physiotherapy.
    Nursing: some colleges require overall 7.0 Bands.
    College Fees: CAD $11,000 to 15,000 for one year (2 Semester) Tuition fees. *Depends up on program selected & Student must have to pay full 1 Year / 1 Sem tuition fee in advance before applying for VISA.
    Intakes:The main Intakes are September and January. There is a limited May intake in a year.

    FINANCE

    If applying under SPP Category : Proof of funds: Evidence of purchase of a special Guaranteed Investment Certificate(GIC) from a participating Canadian financial institution, in the amount of CAD $10,000 to cover living expenses for your first year in Canada and evidence of payment for your first year's tuition.

    If applying under General Category : You can fulfill the financial requirement by submitting a copy of the receipt for the first semester's tuition fee & a copy of an Educational Loan from an Indian Chartered Bank equivalent to CAD $10,000 Once the student gets the visa, after completing 2 years course, an applicant may get eligible up to 3 years open work permit visa. After completing 1 year of open work permit, students can apply for permanent residency in Canada through various immigration programs such as Canadian Experience Class or Provincial Nominee Program without leaving the country

    To visit Canada, you must:
    • have a valid travel document, such as a passport,
    • be in good health,
    • convince an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country,
    • convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit, and
    • Have enough money for your stay. (The amount of money you will need can vary. it depends on things like how long you will stay, and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives.)

    You may also need a:
    • temporary resident (visitor) visa, depending on your citizenship
    • Medical exam and
    • Letter of Invitation who lives in Canada. i.e, family or friends

    Travel documents:

    Transport companies, such as airlines, must make sure you have proper, valid travel documents when you enter Canada. If you do not have the proper documents, you may be delayed or unable to board the plane.

    Carry proper travel documents and identification:
    While you may not need a visa to visit or transit Canada, you still need to:
    • Show an immigration officer that you satisfy all other requirements to enter Canada. For instance, you may need a medical exam before arriving. If you do not meet all the requirements, you may not be allowed to enter.
    • Carry proper travel documents and identification for yourself and any children travelling with you.
